So far Jackie, John and Sophie have all taken turns to zoom in on the world of marketing to schools and highlight some key email marketing trends emerging in 2014.

By now your heads must be swimming with all this talk of funnels, mobile revolutions and video marketing! That’s why I thought today I’d zoom back out and let you catch your breath a bit.

Shocking secret #4 doesn’t require you to revolutionise your education marketing. In fact it doesn’t really require you to do much of anything at all; only to pop the kettle on, break open the biscuits, and rejoice in some excellent news!

Shocking Secret #4: Budgets are on the up again!

School Budgets

In 2014 school budgets will increase by 1.5%, meaning teachers now have an estimated total budget of £88.6 billion available to them!

And the good news doesn’t stop there; the government are encouraging greater autonomy in our schools, meaning that more and more spending power now resides with the Senior Management Team.

That’s excellent news for all education suppliers fighting for a slice of that £88.6 billion because it means that the SMT increasingly have the freedom to spend the money on the things that they think will improve their school.

So, in 2014 I’m happy to predict that you will see more and more of your marketing landing in the laps of the key decision makers. Now it’s down to you to demonstrate to them why they should be spending their money with you!
